My
Story

George Carter, is a German born, Indiana native, Teacher, Business

Owner, and Entrepreneur, who moved to the states at the age of 9. After

experiencing life in a military family, he landed in Memphis in the 3rd

grade, where he quickly learned that life was full of challenges. Moving to

Indiana in the 4'' grade, George found life to be tougher here than he had

experienced in Germany.

George was first introduced to wrestling by a friend from school who

asked him to attend one of his practices. He found it interesting but

continued to explore other sports, becoming a multi-sport athlete. He

found his way back to wrestling in the 7' grade, quickly realizing this was

his passion. Facing the everyday challenges of being a teenager, coupled

with the life of the inner city, George found an outlet that matched the

intensity of "growing up in the hood.

"Wrestling saved my life. It reshaped my mentality, giving me

the ability to incorporate the teachings of the inner city to

maintain in the real world.

The life lessons he learned from the sport of wrestling would stick with

him well into his adult life. Learning there are no losses - only lessons,

falling in love with the process and not always the outcome, and

weathering the storm are just a few of those lessons. Taking chances,

giving yourself opportunities, and learning the true meaning of GRIT, are

a few of the other lessons that would serve him well in his personal and

professional life.

George's passion for family and community is the driving force behind his

mission to not only provide the best opportunities for his sons, but all kids.

"Knowing how wrestling fostered my accountability and emotional

maturity provides me the ability to coach and mentor others as they navigate life"
